| The Challenges 1. Capture an event through a photo-journalist's eyes. 2. Portray a unique aspect of yourself through self-portraiture. 3. Capture the human form. 4. Plumb the depths of human imagination through surreal photography. 5. Shoot a wild animal (with a camera, please.) 6. Capture a stunning example of a natural landscape. 7. Capture an equally stunning example of the man-made landscape. 8. Explore colour, shapes, patterns and/or light through abstract photography. 9. Compose a terribly frightening photograph. 10. Tell a story through a single shot. 11. Drag yourself out of bed and shoot a sunrise. 12. Capture an object through a product photographer's eyes. The Deadline The cut off for submissions is June 30, 2010. The Prizes First prize: -prizes to be confirmed Runner Up: - prizes to be confirmed. The Rules 1. The competition is open to everyone on deviantArt. 2. When you have completed a challenge, upload the shot to deviantArt and apply to have it added to our gallery. An administrator will approve it as long as it complies to all of the rules. 3. All photos must be new. We're trying to inspire creativity, not look for the person with the best back-catalogue of shots. 4. You can't try to knock over two challenges with one photo. At the end of the competition you should have twelve photos in total. 5. The judge(s) will be deciding the winners based on how awesomely the challenges have been interpreted, creativity, technical skillz, diversity, voodoo wizardry and aesthetic values. 6. Administrators can't win the prize. They can enter the competition though. |
